Most consumers are concerned with height loss in their mattress, but over the years we have discovered that softening or “resilience loss” in a sleep surface is the hidden cause of comfort complaints. The typical mattress warranty covers defects in manufacturing and body impressions that are greater than 1 1/2″. When we benchmark-tested @Last against Major Brands products (all retailing at $1299 or greater) we discovered that regardless of height loss, they all suffered from double digit resilience loss. Nobody covers resilience loss, and mattresses rarely (if ever) exceed a 1 1/2″ body impression.
